“Red Devils” recently stormed to draw with Atalanta. With a 2-2 scoreline in the Champions League last night, Varane started.
The Manchester United defender, who has already missed five games this season, limped off after just 38 minutes in Italy. He did return to United’s backline for their 3-0 win at Tottenham on Sunday, which eased the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But Varane faces another setback after going down off the ball before he limped off just before Cristiano Ronaldo equalised.
This is the 28-year-old centre-back’s second injury in recent weeks. After just recovering back into the field in a game against Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend,
Solskjaer revealed that Varane suffered a hamstring injury. therefore had to decide to change
“He had symptoms of a hamstring. So you can’t risk anything.
“Rafa gives the team calmness when he is on the pitch. We have to lose him but that’s football.”
Varane became the second United defender to be injured this week after Victor Lindelof.
